Hot water bottles have been a widely used heating tool in EU countries for a long time. The energy crisis has not ended yet and prices continue to fluctuate. With its affordable price, safety and environmental protection, hot water bottles perfectly fit Europeans’ needs for economical, efficient and cost-effective products. The sales of hot water bottles continue to rise, reflecting the high recognition of hot water bottles by the European market and consumers.
In order to ensure the safety of hot water bottles, BS 1970:2012 came into being as the internationally recognized British hot water bottle safety standard. This standard applies to the production standards of rubber and PVC hot water bottle and aims to establish minimum safety specifications for hot water bottles to prevent unsafe hot water bottles from causing harm to people. Manufacturers, purchasers and distributors are all responsible for paying high attention to and following the requirements of BS 1970:2012. As its latest version, it will take effect on December 31, 2012.
Today, we interpret Chapter 8.1:
Why does BS 1970:2012 stipulate this chapter? Considering that consumers rarely read product instructions and do not pay attention to safety warnings, in order to remind product users as much as possible, the following two sentences of the most basic label information must be marked on the hot water bottle:

Each hot water bottle shall be accompanied by the identification of the European manufacturer, or the UK distributor for bottles manufactured outside the European Union, and the following warning in the format given:
"WARNING - HOT WATER BOTTLES CAN CAUSE BURNS.
AVOID PROLONGED DIRECT CONTACT WITH THE SKIN."
If the hot water bottle contains natural rubber, a clear and legible statement shall accompany the product as follows:
"This hot water bottle is made of natural rubber."

Cada bolsa de agua caliente debe ir acompañada de la identificación del fabricante europeo, o del distribuidor del Reino Unido para las bolsas fabricadas fuera de la Unión Europea, y la siguiente advertencia en el formato indicado:
"ADVERTENCIA: LAS BOLSAS DE AGUA CALIENTE PUEDEN CAUSAR QUEMADURAS. EVITE EL CONTACTO DIRECTO PROLONGADO CON LA PIEL."
Si la bolsa de agua caliente contiene caucho natural, deberá ir acompañada de una declaración clara y legible de la siguiente manera:
"Esta bolsa de agua caliente está hecha de caucho natural."

Falls die Wärmflasche Naturkautschuk enthält, muss eine klare und gut lesbare Aussage das Produkt begleiten:
